Impossible is Impossible

This blog is my way of reflecting upon life. Life is about living and learning. As I live and learn I’m going to reflect upon this life I lead. Hopefully I'll offer something insightful with my postings. If you learn nothing else from me, know this that “impossible is impossible”.

Habits 1

I have this little habit.
I buy magazines based on the cover.
Wait, wait it doesn’t end there.
Generally after reading the cover article or looking at the pictures, skimming for other little sidebars which interest me I put them up somewhere.
Then months later when I’m bored I pull them back out and flip through looking for things which peek my interest.
Prime Example: November 2008 issue of “Esquire” the one with Halle Berry on the cover in her undies covered up by a black blazer and sky blue tie ala, the famous 2000 cover of the mag featuring former President Bill Clinton.
The article which got my attention is titled, “The Suggestion: Red Wine with Breakfast”. It’s interesting cause I know many a person who would like to begin their day with an adult beverage. I’ve never heard or seen it advocated.
I submit the premise is interesting as the author says, “One glass gives you the perfect amount of buzz, and it doesn’t make you groggy. It drives a wedge between your cottony, postsleep morning and the rest of your day.”
Hmm.
Honestly never thought of it, but makes me want to give it a try.
I could actually probably stomach my own breakfast with a glass of wine.

Whew

Whew.

I'm not quite sure why I'm saying whew.

I've been off since Monday.

My station's managing editor called today and asked what I was doing?

She said she didn't want me to get used to being off.

Haha.

I haven't been doing anything exciting helping friends by proofreading documents and such, doing a little cleaning, and watching reruns on T.V.

Hopefully the weekend things will pick up. I'm supposed to go to a fashion show tomorrow. Should be interesting as I'm supposed to sit with someone I used to crush on. She called me last weekend to make sure I brought my ticket.

Why am I doing that to myself?

Who Has To Work On A Saturday?

Who has to work on a Saturday? Me that's who.

Oh and not to mention I have to work tomorrow as well.

My weekend work schedule prevented me from going up to NY to attend the daylong conference, my friend Aprill's putting on.

But since I'm stuck here in Bmore because of the JOB (which even though I call it part part-time) I'm lucky to have I better get ready for it.

I'm about to shower, get dressed, and head to the grocery store for lunch and dinner and a snack for in between.

And today's turning out to be a nice day too. How I wish I could enjoy it.

School Dayz

I just finished eating leftovers from a late Saturday night dinner at PF Changs with my friend Aprill.

(For the foodies out there I had the Organic Agave Margarita, Crab Wontons, and Pepper Steak with Brown Rice)

As I dined on what was left of last night's meal, it made me think of a conversation with our waiter from last night Gary who told us waiting tables was his second job, which he worked so he could go to school.

I myself couldn't imagine having had to work two jobs and go to school at the same time.

I barely survived working part-time, interning, volunteering, and going to class.

Then I thought about it last year for a hot minute I was going to work and go to school, though it became cost prohibitive.

Recently, I have been thinking about going back to school. The only question is what for?

Speaking of school, one of my best friends from college is coming to visit Bmore on Wednesday. He wants me to go to campus with him, I'm thinking nah, cause I'll be there in two weeks for the black student association's fashion show. That'll give me my LoCo fix.

Wow

I'm watching "Grey's Anatomy" for the first time in forever.

I kind of forgot how great a show it is.

This episode is both intense and engaging.

Blah Blah Blah

I got a haircut today.
One of the co-workers noticed.
It's funny my mother so often says, "You look so much better with a haircut."
When I sat thinking about it, I thought maybe bringing in a new month with a new look might change my luck.
So here's simply to my luck changing :-).
